ONIZEA drives BACK-X, a data space for the electronics and semiconductor industry
Smart data for a more efficient industry
At ONIZEA, we continue to move forward with projects that combine innovation, technology and digital transformation applied to strategic sectors. One of them is BACK-X, an initiative focused on creating an interoperable data space for the electronics and semiconductor industry.
The main objective of BACK-X is to intelligently connect the information generated by machines, MES systems and industrial equipment used in backend processes, such as dispensing, curing, testing and inspection of electronic circuits.
This project responds to a key need in the sector: improving the efficiency, traceability and quality of production processes through the use of data, artificial intelligence and interoperability technologies.
A project to optimize industrial processes
BACK-X will make it possible to collect, integrate and analyze data from different industrial equipment and systems. This information can be transformed into useful knowledge to detect patterns, anticipate potential incidents, reduce defects and improve decision-making in production environments.
The platform is designed to facilitate integration with MES systems, industrial machinery and analytics tools, allowing data to be shared securely among different actors in the ecosystem.
In addition, the project includes the application of artificial intelligence and Machine Learning technologies to move towards predictive models capable of improving process performance and optimizing resources.
Interoperability, security and data sovereignty
One of the most relevant aspects of BACK-X is its approach based on interoperability and security. The data space is designed as a reliable environment where organizations can manage, share and use information in a controlled way.
The project is aligned with European standards such as Gaia-X and with key principles such as data sovereignty, traceability, information quality and secure access management. This makes it possible to create an ecosystem in which participants maintain control over their data and can define the conditions of use and access.
Collaboration with entities and actors in the sector
BACK-X includes the participation of entities linked to the technological, industrial and academic fields. Key actors include electronic circuit manufacturers, machinery suppliers, research centres and organizations specialized in innovation.
The collaboration with Universidad Carlos III de Madrid strengthens the project’s research and technical validation component, especially in the development of advanced algorithms and data analysis models.
MSTECH has also played a key role in the development of the project, actively participating in the use case and contributing its specialized knowledge of the sector to reinforce the practical application of the solution.
For its part, the link with IMAPS IBERIA represents an opportunity to connect the project with a specialized network in microelectronics and semiconductors, promoting the dissemination of results and the attraction of new participants within the ecosystem.
Technology at the service of industrial competitiveness
BACK-X not only aims to develop a technological solution, but also to contribute to the competitiveness of the electronics industry in Spain and Europe. The creation of a shared data space can help reduce the sector’s current fragmentation, improve collaboration between companies and accelerate the adoption of advanced digital solutions.
Among the expected benefits are improved production efficiency, a reduction in defective products, optimization of energy consumption and stronger traceability across the entire value chain.
A commitment to innovation from ONIZEA
From ONIZEA, this project represents another example of our commitment to applied innovation, digital transformation and the development of technological solutions capable of generating real impact in the industry.
BACK-X is a step forward towards a more connected, intelligent and sustainable production model, where data becomes a strategic resource to improve processes, boost collaboration and create new growth opportunities.
